BRIGHOUSE & Rastrick Band will be hosting a concert night next month, with guests Grimethorpe Colliery Band.

The brass concert will take place at Huddersfield Town Hall on March 25, and will include favourite pieces such as the William Tell Overture, Procession to the Minster and Introduction to Act 111 Lohengren.

The theme for the night will be ‘Massed Bands Classics’ and guest conductor Garry Cutt will be leading the festivities, in what is a long-running serioies of concerts.

Organisers say that Garry, who is well-known to the brass band world, has selected “a superb blend of ever popular music certain to provide a splendid evening’s entertainment”.

Included in the programme will be Carnival of Venice played by Brighouse & Rastrick’s principal euphonium, Chris Robertson, whilst Jamie Smith, Grimethorpe cornet player, performs old classic Charivari.
