A BANNED driver has been jailed for six months for getting behind the wheel of a car despite being disqualified.

Kesser Ahmad, 24, was spotted driving a vehicle on Leeds Road in Thackley on March 27, 2022.

He pleaded not guilty to driving while disqualified but was found guilty at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on February 9.

Ahmad, of Thornbury Avenue, Bradford, was jailed for 26 weeks in total.

Court documents show magistrates found the offence was so serious due to being aggravated by the defendant’s record of previous offending.

He was also found guilty of using a vehicle without third-party insurance.

Ahmad was also further banned from holding a driving licence for 12 months.

He must also pay a £128 surcharge to fund victim services.
