Comic and actor Kieran Hodgson’s Twitter video of his Happy Valley impressions has gone viral - receiving over 6 million views.

Hodgson, who co-wrote Channel 4’s Prince Andrew: The Musical, produced a spoof video showing his take on the final series of the hit BBC show.

In an amusing parody of the Yorkshire-filmed show, Hodgson speaks in character as the Happy Valley stars, further exaggerating their already-prominent northern characteristics.

Sally Wainwright's gripping drama was released in six parts, with the finale scoring the largest overnight ratings for a drama on UK TV since May 2021.

Hodgson's video imitates the down-to-earth and gritty style of Sarah Lancashire’s Catherine Cawood and her sister Clare, played by Siobhan Finneran.

He also delivers impressions of Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton) and his teenage son Ryan (Rhys Connah).

The video includes lines such as "Well done Catherine, but why don't you leave the real work to a series of interchangeable northern policeman, alright?"

In a side-swipe at one of the key storylines in the series, the video also contains the line: "Catherine, Tommy Lee Royce has escaped unrealistically."

The spoof clip ends with an interpretation of one of the concluding scenes - a foul-mouthed exchange across a table in which two of the show's stars exchange expletive-ridden insults.

Many on Twitter were quick to praise the video as it was widely shared across social media.
