A BRADFORD man has been given a restraining order after admitting to beating up a woman.
Matthew Hawksworth, of Roundhill Avenue in Cottingley, faced a charge of assault by beating. He committed the assault at Cottingley New Road on July 23 last year.
The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence on October 24, 2022.
Hawksworth was given a community order. He must also abide by the requirements of a restraining order, which is in place until February 5, 2024.
Court documents state Hawksworth must pay a £114 victim surcharge and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The £199 balance must be paid by March 6 this year, the court documents add.
The case was heard at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Monday, February 6.
