A major road is closed this morning due to a serious accident.
The incident is affecting the A652 Bradford Road, in Birstall, which is reported to be shut in both directions.
Motorists are being warned to avoid the area if possible. As the morning commute swings into action, traffic is starting to become heavier on adjoining routes, including Low Lane.
A traffic update from Inrix stated: "A652 Bradford Road both ways closed due to serious accident from A62 Huddersfield Road (Greyhound traffic lights) to A643 Church Lane."
The AA traffic section described the incident as a "serious crash" first reported to them at 4.58am.
