SOMEONE rang the 999 emergency line...because they wanted police permission to undertake a driver travelling at 67mph on the fast lane of a motorway.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the call to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.
The team often tweets some of the more unusual phone calls they receive from the general public.
Please do not ring 999 to request permission to undertake someone because they are doing 67mph in the fast lane.

It might be very annoying, but it certainly doesn't warrant ringing us on a life and death emergency line. pic.twitter.com/CDDtS3a4WV
In its latest example, the team said: "Please do not ring 999 to request permission to undertake someone because they are doing 67mph in the fast lane.

Previous calls to the contact centre have included someone called 999 to ask them to book some driving lessons for them. Another called to say their knickers had been stolen from their washing line and another wanted police to order them a pizza.
