A BRADFORD man avoided a driving ban after gaining 14 points because he would have lost his business.
Shafi Masroor, of Foston Lane in Fagley, pleaded not guilty to four offences at Bradford Magistrates Court on January 23.
The 39-year-old drove without wearing a seat belt twice, failed to give information relating to the driver's identification when required, and used a vehicle without third-party insurance.
He did not suffer a totting disqualification due to his mitigating circumstances.
Court documents say exceptional hardship was found as the defendant would lose his business if disqualified.
They add Masroor also has two employees who would lose their jobs too.
The first of the seat belt offences involved a Volkswagen Golf and it occurred on Lapage Street on November 9, 2020.
The other involved the same vehicle but it was on Leeds Road on January 23, 2021.
The third-party insurance offence was committed on the same road on the same date.
On February 2, 2021, in Bradford, Masroor failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of the Golf.
He was fined £767 and had to pay court costs of £310 and a victim surcharge of £77.
