A MAN has been fined after being caught speeding on a major Bradford district road.

Richard Corley, 57, of Burnside Avenue, Shelf, Halifax, faced a charge of exceeding 50mph speed limit in contravention of a local traffic order.

He was clocked at 76mph by manned equipment in a 50mph speed limit zone of Sir Fred Hoyle Way, also known as Bingley Bypass, Bingley. The offence took place on September 11, 2022.

Corley was handed three driving licence points, fined £323 and ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge and £90 costs for the offence. A collection order was made by the court at the sentencing hearing.

Corley pleaded guilty to the speeding charge and was sentenced at a single justice procedure hearing held at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on January 19, 2023.
