A HOST of schools in the Bradford district are closed or partially closed due to strike action by teachers today.

Bradford Council’s Daily Notification of Emergency School Closures has given the full list of affected schools.

Schools which are fully closed are:

  • Ryecroft Primary Academy
  • Low Ash Primary School

Here is the list of schools in the district which are partially closed today due to strike action:

  • Appleton Academy: School is open for children in Years 1, 5, 6, & 11, vulnerable children and those of critical workers. School is partially open for some classes in Years 2 and 3 but classes 2RM and 3EH are closed. School is open for some Year 7 pupils in the 7b group and Year 9 pupils in the 9a group (except for 9a/Ma1).
  • Baildon Glen Primary School: School open for years 1 - 5 School closed for nursery, Reception and year 6.
  • Belle Vue Girls' Academy: School open to vulnerable students
  • Brackenhill Primary School: We have four classes open with staff available : Oak, Cedar, Aspen and Maple.

Bradford Academy: The year groups that are closed are as follows: Class 3A Class 5A Year 6 All of secondary from Year 7 to P16 with the exception of our PD Unit and R.E.S.E.T

Bradford Forster Academy: YEAR 7, YEAR 8, YEAR 9 & YEAR 10 Students to remain at home and participate in remote learning on Wednesday 1st February 2023. YEAR 11 We are also currently planning to provide onsite provision for Year 11 students who we would ask to come in at the slightly later time of 9:30am. Bradford Girls' Grammar School: Lady Royd Primary will be OPEN FOR ALL PUPILS. Bradford Girls's Grammar School, for Years 7 to 11 will be CLOSED. However, we are open for vulnerable children and those children of key workers. School will re-open on Thursday 2nd February

Buttershaw Business & Enterprise College Academy: YEAR 7, YEAR 8, YEAR 9 & YEAR 10 Students to remain at home and participate in remote learning on Wednesday 1 February 2023 unless they have been invited in. YEAR 11 We are currently planning on providing onsite provision for Year 11 students who we would ask to come in at the slightly later start time of 10.00 am. This provision has been prioritised to ensure we minimise disruption to our Year 11’s programme of learning during their important GCSE examination year.

Canterbury Nursery School and Centre for Children: Only the Meadow class will be closed (Caterpillars and Butterflies)

Carrwood Primary School: School remains open for the following classes: Petals Nursery Year 1 Year 2 Year 3/4 Year 4

Christ Church Church of England Academy: Due to Industrial action the school is only open to vulnerable children and children of critical workers.

Co-op Academy Southfield: School is closed to all students, except for those who have been notified they should attend, who should attend as normal.

  • Cottingley Village Primary School: Nursery, reception, YSM, year 5 and Y6B are open. All other classes are closed today including The Maples DRP. 

Dixons Allerton Academy: Due to the NEU strike action, we have had to take the difficult decision of a partial closure to safeguard welfare. School will remain open all Year 11 students, who are preparing for their GCSE examinations, Primary students, and those who are deemed to be vulnerable or have additional needs.

Dixons Cottingley Academy: We will remain open for Year 7 and Year 11 students only.

Eastburn Junior and Infant School: School closed to: -Class Reception -Year 1 -Year 4 -Year 5 School open as usual to: -Class 2 -Class 3 -Class 6

  • Eldwick Primary School
  • Frizinghall Primary School: The following classes are closed: Nursery Reception Birch 4 Birch 4 Chestnut 6 Birch Childcare provision in place for identified children.
  • Girlington Primary School: The following classes will be closed: 1JC 1JW 2JT 4CB 6BB

Green Lane Primary School: Due to industrial strike action we have closed a number of classes in school for this day. Parents have been informed.

High Park School: School will be closed to Key Stage 4 & 5 students. Learn & Play will also be closed today. All parents of pupils not attending have been contacted. All other pupils should attend school as normal.

o Hill Top CofE Primary School: Nursery - closed Reception - closed Year 1 - closed Year 2 - closed Year 3 - closed Year 4 - closed Year 5 - OPEN Year 6 - OPEN

  • Horton Grange Primary School: The following classes/year groups will be closed: Reception, 2C, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5.
  • Horton Park Primary School: The following classes will be closed: RB, 1A, 3A, 4A and 4B.
  • Hoyle Court Primary School: Reception - Saplings class Year 1/2 - Aspen Year 2 - Sycamore Year 3 - Willow (AM)

Home Farm Primary School: Please refer to the letter sent to parents on the 25 January for further information. Immanuel College: Due to Industrial Action, school is only open to vulnerable students and children of critical workers. Year 11 students should also remain at home. All students not in school should continue with remote learning.

  • Killinghall Primary School: The following year groups will be able to access remote learning from home: Brightstart Nursery Years 1,3,4 All other year groups to attend school as normal: Reception Years 2,5,6 and Raise Room
  • Lapage Primary School and Primary: School is only open to vulnerable children and children of critical workers. 
  • Ley Top Primary School: School is only open to Reception, Y1, Y2, Y6

Lidget Green Primary School: The following classes will be closed: 1U 1BM 2AD 2K 3DH 3SH 4MP4B 5N The following classes will be open: Nursery Reception 1M 2M 3G 4AP 5C 5S All Year 6- Trip to Haworth will be going ahead

Long Lee Primary School: The following classes will be closed and these pupils should not attend for the day. Nursery - Closed Year 1 - Both classes closed Year 2 - Both classes closed Year 4 Elm - Closed All other classes are open and children will be expected to attend school as normal Breakfast club and After School club will operate as usual as well.

Newby Primary School: We have therefore taken the decision to open only to pupils considered vulnerable and those children whose parents are critical workers. We apologise to our parents for any inconvenience this may cause. School will reopen as normal for all pupils on Thursday 2 February.

Newhall Park Primary School: The school will be open for both Year 5 classes and for Dragonfly class. Please see the letter that was sent to Parents and Carers on 24.01.23 for further details.

  • One In A Million Free School: Due to the teacher strike action school is closed for students in year's 8 & 9 today. Year 7, 10 and 11 should attend as normal

Peel Park Primary School and Nursery: The following classes will be closed 1 Hazel Year 2 - all classes Year 3 - all classes 4 Elm 4 Ash 5 Dragon 6 Banyon 6 Sycamore

  • Sandal Primary School: Only children in nursery, 2S, 5S or in receipt of FSM's should attend school
  • Saltaire Primary School: The following classes will be closed and children should not attend school: Reception: Hockney White Reception: Hockney Blue Year 1: Donaldson Year 3: Daley Year 4: Earhart Year 4: Fiennes

Shibden Head Primary Academy: Ash Class and Beech Class Closed All other classes remain open - all children in these classes should attend.

Shipley CofE Primary School: Due to Industrial Action, school is only open for Vulnerable children and children of critical workers.

St Cuthbert & The First Martyrs' Catholic Primary: School is open to pupils in Year 5 and Nursery only. All other year groups closed unless you have a pre-arranged childcare/vulnerable child place. Pupils attending the Young Voices trip should also come in at normal time.

St John's CofE Primary School: Nursery will be closed Reception, Year 2 and Year 6 will be open for all children Year 1, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 will be closed. Only Critical Worker and Vulnerable children can attend

  • St Paul's CofE Primary School: Schools will be closed to pupils in year one, five and six only. 

Stanbury Village School: Class 3: Will remain open to all pupils in year 5 and 6. Class 2: Will close completely. Class 1: Will be open to year 2 pupils only. Foundation Stage: will be open to Reception pupils only.

  • Titus Salt School: School only open to years 11, 12 and 13. 
  • Trinity Academy, Bradford in Queensbury: Year 7 and Year 11 students only are expected to attend school as normal on Wednesday 1 February 2023

o Wibsey Primary School: There will be a partial closure of Wibsey Primary School on Wednesday 1st February 2023. The following classes will be closed and these pupils should not attend for the day. Nursery Full closure Reception Full closure – all classes closed Year 3 Partial closure - Class 3.1 only closed Year 4 Full closure – all classes closed Year 5 Full closure – all classes closed Year 6 Partial closure - Class 6.1 only closed Classes for all other children will be open and children will be expected to attend.

Wilsden Primary School: Optimism class will be closed today.
