WORK is continuing to take a number of streets in Bradford city centre back to the Second World War for the filming of a star-studded Netflix movie.

Six Triple Eight, a drama set during the height of the Second World War, is set to be filmed in Bradford’s Little Germany next month.

The film follows the story of the Second World War’s only all-black, all-female unit. Its cast is led by Kerry Washington, star of TV drama Scandal, Susan Sarandon and talk show host and actor Oprah Winfrey.

A day of filming for the movie is scheduled to take place in Little Germany on Thursday, February 16. But preparation work by the production company got underway on Sunday, January 22 in some streets in the area.

Piles of sandbags were spotted today (Sunday, January 29) on one of the streets in Little Germany as preparation for the movie continues.

The streets in Little Germany affected by the filming work are: Scoresby Street, Burnett Street, Cater Street, Vicar Lane and Currer Street.
