A SERVING prisoner has been jailed for further driving and shop theft offences committed in the Bradford district.
Neil Wong, 42, of Bankfield Walk, Keighley, faced four theft from a shop and one driving whilst disqualified offences.
In the first, Wong was committed to prison for 16 weeks for stealing razors, worth a total of £70, from Asda, Bingley Road, Keighley, on June 14, 2022. He was also ordered to pay a £154 victim surcharge for this offence.
He was committed to prison for 16 weeks, to run concurrently, for stealing a number of razor blades, worth a total of £120, from Asda, Bingley Street, Keighley, on August 8, 2022.
Wong was committed to prison for 16 weeks, to run concurrently, for stealing meat (beef steaks), worth a total of £158.50, from Sainsbury’s centre, Cavendish Street, Keighley, on July 31, 2022.
He was also committed to prison for 16 weeks, to run concurrently, for stealing washing powder, worth a total of £39.96, from B&M Store, Cavendish Street, Keighley, on August 4, 2022.
Wong was committed to prison for 16 weeks, to run concurrently, for driving whilst disqualified. This offence took place on Larkfield Terrace, Bradford, on August 6, 2022.
He was disqualified from holding, or obtaining, a driving licence for six months for the offence.
According to the court documents, the court deemed the offecnes so serious as the defendant is a serving prisoner.
Wong pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on January 18, 2023.
