AN uninsured driver has been fined after being caught on a major Bradford district road.

Ateeq Hussain, 19, of Ambleside Avenue, Bradford, faced a charge of using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance. This offence took place on Sir Fred Hoyle Way, also known as Bingley Bypass, on October 9, 2022.

He was handed six driving licence points, fined £760 and ordered to pay a £304 victim surcharge and £90 costs for the offence. A collection order was made by the court at the sentencing hearing.

Hussain was given no separate penalty for a charge of exceeding the 50 mph speed limit in contravention of a local traffic order - manned equipment. He was caught speeding at 73mph in a 50mph zone of Sir Fred Hoyle Way/Bingley Bypass, also on October 9, 2022.

The case against Hussain was proven at a single justice procedure hearing held at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on January 19, 2023.
