A MAN has been caught using an e-scooter on a Bradford road without insurance or a licence.
Jahan Zaib Jumani, 18, of Blenheim Road, Bradford, faced a charge of using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance.
He was found using an e-scooter on Manningham Lane, Manningham, Bradford, when there was not in force in relation to that use such a policy of insurance or such a security in respect of third party risks. This offence took place on August 29, 2022.
Jumani was handed eight driving licence points, fined £161 and ordered to pay £90 costs and a £64 victim surcharge for the offence.
He was given no separate penalty for a second charge of driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence – endorsable offence. This charge took place when he was caught using an e-scooter on Manningham Lane, Bradford, on August 29, 2022.
Jumani pleaded guilty to both charges and was sentenced at a single justice procedure hearing held at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on January 19, 2023.
