A CANNABIS farm was discovered at a house in Keighley last night when firefighters were called out to tackle a blaze in the property.
A passer-by raised the alarm after spotting smoke coming from the terrace house in West Lane, shortly after 9pm.
Crews from Keighley, Bingley and Silsden fire stations attended.
After breaking into the unoccupied property, they found cannabis plants were being grown. The fire, caused by an electrical issue, was in a first-floor bedroom.
Six breathing apparatus sets were worn and hose reel jets used to bring the blaze under control. A special high-pressure fan was also brought in to help clear smoke.
Fire damage was restricted to the bedroom.
Police were alerted and Northern Powergrid engineers attended to make the electrics safe.
