TRIBUTES from patients and their families continue to pour in after the sudden death of a much-loved Bradford doctor.
Dr Paul Southern, who was a consultant hepatologist at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, died at the start of this week.

A number of patients, their families and colleagues have paid tribute to Dr Southern on social media.
Karen Luty said: “He was so lovely with my mum when he had to tell her about her cancer and there was nothing he could do. Put me in touch with palliative care team and he was so caring xx.”
Suzanne Wahed added: “Was an amazing caring doctor who came to visit his patient (my mum) in 2010, on his day off, because they didn’t think she would last the weekend. He will be a great loss.”
“Such sad news, Paul was a fabulous doctor and colleague, always went the extra mile to help support staff, he championed my work and i'll be forever grateful for his guidance & support, my condolences to his family, he’s going to be greatly missed, RIP Paul x,” said Julie Anne.

Maureen Mawson added: “For over 13 years this lovely man has been my Liver Consultant! A pleasure to have him there for me! R.I.P. Dr Southern you will be surely missed. Sincere condolences to the family.”
Hannah Ackroyd said: “I’ve been very sad for the last two days, Paul and his family have never been far from my thoughts… but reading all these beautiful messages has been really heartbreaking. Bradford has lost an amazing doctor, colleague, leader and friend, he will be dearly missed. My condolences to his wife and children. Xxx.”
“Amazing guy, great doctor and was there for me through my struggles health wise. May he rest in peace sending love to all who had the pleasure to know him,” added Warwick Waterworth.

Maureen Beadle said: “I thought that Dr Southern was one of the nicest doctors I have met, he put people at ease and was a credit to his profession. I just wish all doctors were like him. Condolences to his family, he will be greatly missed. RIP.”
Dr Southern, who was also associate medical director and chief clinical information officer at the Trust, joined Bradford in 2008.
He was well-known and respected within the Trust and across Yorkshire, and had previously spent seven years working in the Leeds liver transplant unit.
