A FILM following a rugby league legend’s epic charity running challenge, which included stops in Bradford, will have its premiere tonight.

Former Leeds Rhinos star Kevin Sinfield’s week-long Ultra 7 in 7 challenge saw him run around 40 miles for seven consecutive days en route to Old Trafford in Manchester in a bid to raise £777,777 for five motor neurone disease charities (MND) charities.

He quickly smashed this target raising more than £2.3 million after he completed the challenge in November last year.

Sinfield ended day six of the challenge with a hero’s welcome at the home of Bradford City, Valley Parade.

As he entered the ground, Sinfield hugged former Bradford City right-back and captain Stephen Darby, who himself was diagnosed with MND in September 2018.

Now Sinfield’s whole ultra-marathon feat has been chronicled with a 90-minute-long film, ‘Ultra 7 in 7 – The Inside Story’, which will have its premiere at a ticket-only event at Everman cinema in Leeds tonight (Thursday, January 19) from 7pm.

Funds raised by the event will go to the MND Association.

Sinfield will get his seventh and final day underway from Valley Parade, before reaching his challenge destination, Old Trafford, in time for half-time of the men’s rugby league World Cup final.
