THE team from Prashad restaurant will be on TV screens tonight as part of the Hairy Bikers’ new TV show.

Dave Myers and Si King filmed at the vegetarian Indian restaurant in Drighlington as part of their new BBC Two Go Local series.

The pair visit the Bikers' pick for the top restaurant of each region and look for innovative local suppliers.

Run by husband-and-wife team Bobby and Minal Patel, the restaurant began in Bradford 30 years ago.

Posting on social media about the upcoming episode, which will air at 8pm on January 11, the restaurant said: “Tonight is the night! It was a pleasure to have The Hairy Bikers Dave and Si in the Prashad kitchen, and for Minal and the team to cook up our tasting menu for them to enjoy.”

In the episode itself, the Hairy Bikers source mushrooms, rhubarbs and beetroots for Prashad, to make garlic mushroom pakoras, beetroot-stuffed paratha and rhubarb, rose and cardamom kulfi.

“We were so excited to be chosen to represent Yorkshire,” said Bobby, who co-owns Prashad alongside his wife, Prashad head chef, Minal.

“Being able to share our Gujarati food with people is such a gift, and to have it recognised again, by two chefs we really admire, is a testament to the hard work of Minal and the team."
