A serious crash has left a woman fighting for her life - while another man was taken to hospital.
Emergency services were called to the junction of Brighouse and Denholme Gate Road and Halifax Road, Shelf, at 11.08am today (January 9).
It followed a collision between two cars.
A man from one of the cars was taken to hospital.
Meanwhile a woman from the other car was also taken to hospital, having suffered life threatening injuries.
Road closures are expected to remain in place at the large police scene for most of the day.
West Yorkshire Police has urged drives to avoid the area.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Emergency services were called to the junction of Brighouse and Denholme Gate Road and Halifax Road, Shelf at 11.08 today (January 9) following a collision between two cars.
"A man from one of the cars was taken to hospital. A woman from the other car was also taken to hospital having suffered life threatening injuries.
"Road closures remain in place at the location and drivers are urged to avoid the area."
