STAFF on the intensive care unit of a Bradford hospital have scrubbed up nicely for Christmas thanks to a donation from a city-based tailor.
People who work on the ICU unit at Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI) have been getting into the spirit of the Yuletide season by donning a collection of 40 tops made from festive fabric.
The tops were donated by Bradford-based bespoke tailoring business, IK Collections, after its owner, Imran Khan, decided he wanted to support Bradford Teaching Hospitals and spurred his company of sewers into action.
Alison Bridle, senior ICU sister, said: “Staff wore Christmas scrubs during the pandemic and it really lifted the spirits of both them and patients.
“There were so many lovely comments from other areas so we are excited to have a new batch of Christmas scrubs this year.
“The festive patterns are lovely and jolly and staff enjoy wearing them.
“We are really grateful to Imran and his sewers at IK Collections. They’ve done a fantastic job.”
Mr Khan was helped in the making of the hospital scrubs by Bradford East MP Imran Hussain and Saleem Akhtar, chief executive of Jinnah Restaurants.
Mr Khan said: “They were very grateful at the hospital. They loved all of their outfits. It was great.”
