ENQUIRIES remain ongoing following the death of a male in Cleckheaton last week, West Yorkshire Police has said.

Officers were called to the scene, on Kenmore Road, following reports a car had collided with a fence shortly after 5am on Friday, December 23. 

When they got there, they found a male with serious injuries on the floor nearby.

He died before arriving at hospital.

West Yorkshire Police told the Telegraph & Argus that its enquiries were ongoing. 

A police statement today stated: "Enquiries remain ongoing regarding this matter, but the death is not currently being treated as suspicious."

In an earlier statement, a police spokesperson said: "Police were called to an address on Kenmore Road, Cleckheaton, shortly before 5.05am following reports that a car had collided with a fence and come to a stop in the garden of a house.

"Upon attending, officers found a male with serious head injuries lying on the floor nearby.

"The male was taken to hospital by ambulance but sadly died before arriving.”
