A MIXED martial arts star has been suited and booted by a Bradford tailoring firm.

Paddy Pimblett, nicknamed ‘Paddy The Baddy’, has had a suit designed and made by IK Collections, based in Westgate.

Pimblett, 27, a lightweight division fighter from Liverpool, has already racked up an undefeated record in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) having won his first four bouts.

His latest victory came in the co-main event of UFC 282 on December 11 when he beat Jared Gordon in Las Vegas.

Pimblett, who has 2.5 million followers on Instagram, met with Imran Khan, owner of IK Collections, to go through designs for his suit.

The navy blue garment has now been made and features ‘Paddy The Baddy’ written in piping stripes on the jacket.

Mr Khan says Pimblett is an up-and-coming star in the world of mixed martial arts. He added the fighter was prompted to get a suit from the Bradford firm after seeing one worn by DJ Tom Zanetti.

Mr Khan said: “He is a proper gentleman.

“Paddy saw a suit that I had designed for Tom Zanetti and I contacted Paddy to make him a suit.

“I went to see him at his house and he gave me a warm welcome. He was a really nice chap. He was really sweet and down to earth.

“Paddy is going to come to the shop. It was all completed a fortnight ago.

“It’s a very good thing for him to have had a suit made here in Bradford.

“I think he will be the next big thing, he is very, very talented.

“It helps to put Bradford on the map.”

The UFC star becomes the latest high-profile name to have a suit made by IK Collections, following the likes of Captain Sir Tom Moore, former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn and Dancing On Ice judge Christopher Dean.

IK Collections is also making a pair of suits for another sporting great. Former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram has been measured up for his suits by Mr Khan at his home in Cheshire.

The firm has also made a suit for Bradford City manager Mark Hughes. He chose a navy blue-coloured suit from the company.

It includes the Bradford City club logo on the breast pocket of the jacket and features a number of Bantams club badge on the jacket’s inside lining.

Hughes has been wearing the suit in the dugout on matchdays on a number of occasions during the first few months of this season.
