A famous food reviewer from Bradford is taking thousands of people on his culinary adventures across the UK and world.

Aamir Khan, more widely known as Mr MunchBox, is followed by over 106k people on TikTok, 19.2k on Instagram, and just under 7,000 people on YouTube.

He could be discovering Bradford’s best halal Chinese food, the city’s spiciest chicken wings or little-known hidden gems.

His food review tours began in the curry capital and now take him to Manchester, Birmingham, Coventry, Leeds and even Italy and Pakistan.

But wherever his next food journey takes him, he always reaches millions of people online.

He has become so popular that students shout his famous catchphrase in school hallways and teachers ask for personal videos.

Now the Manningham blogger hopes to inspire a new generation to follow their dreams and stay on the right path.

“I’ve been making content since about 2008,” Aamir told the Telegraph & Argus.

“My family trade is a food background, my father’s been in the trade for about 30 years.

“I just want to travel and I’m kind of at that point now when I left to go Pakistan I was in full time employment but I’ve left that job now.

“I believe in life if you put your mind to it, nothing’s impossible.”

Aamir, a former pupil at Challenge College, now named Oasis Lister Park Academy, says he owes his success in part to his late teacher, Mr Mitchell.

“In my time at school he showed me a lot of support,” Aamir said.

“He didn’t give up on me. He’s one of the reasons I went back to university.”

His present life is miles away from being a young lad struggling academically at a PRU with no GCSEs. He is now a proud degree-holder after studying youth and community development at the University of Bradford.

He also uses his platform to raise thousands for charity.

“I’ve seen that struggle coming from an area where there’s not a lot of opportunities,” he said.

“I’ve had a childhood where I’ve done good, I’ve done bad.

“Bradford’s growing stronger and stronger. Bradford’s not just growing through food, but the Odeon building [being transformed into Bradford Live]. There’s a lot of things happening in Bradford.

“Go out, live your life, enjoy it. Meet as many people as you can.”

He added: “A lot of people if you get popular they don’t share that success. I’ve had people come up who are building their own followings off the back of my videos. It’s kind of inspired them.

“I’m just blown away.

“I’m just a normal guy from Bradford who likes to eat food.”
