ADVERSE weather conditions have delayed and forced the cancellation of several Ryanair flights to and from Leeds-Bradford Airport today (Monday).

One former Bradford man, who now lives in Tenerife, contacted the Telegraph & Argus this afternoon to explain how the ordeal was affecting passengers who were due to board Ryanair flight FR6433 at 7.25am this morning before it got cancelled.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, explained: "Our flight from Leeds-Bradford Airport to Tenerife was cancelled this morning.

"We were due to get on our flight but then we got a message to leave the boarding area and go back to the terminal to collect our baggage.

"I'm originally from Bradford but I now live in Tenerife, so it's not as bad for me as it is for other passengers.

"Many people travelled from miles away to get here.

"Nobody knows what going on and it's an appalling situation.

"Our handling agents are not interested, we've had to wait in a cold part of the airport near a door and we haven't received any vouchers for food and drink.

"People have had to rebook all of their flights individually."

When the T&A checked Leeds-Bradford Airport's website this afternoon, other Ryanair flights had been affected including a 4.45pm arrival (FR9088) from Alicante and a 5.15pm arrival (FR6438) from Tenerife South
17:15, both of which were cancelled.

Ryanair explained that the cold weather in the UK has been affecting flights to and from various airports across the country.

A spokesperson for Ryanair said: “As a result of the ongoing adverse weather conditions across the UK, we are experiencing a small number of delays/cancellations to flights to/from some UK airports today (Monday), including the cancellation of this flight from Leeds-Bradford to Tenerife (Dec 12).

“Affected passengers have been notified and advised of their options.

“While our teams are working hard to minimise disruption to customers, Ryanair advises all customers flying to/from the UK today (Monday) to check the Ryanair website/app for flight status updates before travelling to the airport.

“We sincerely apologise for these weather-related disruptions which are entirely beyond our control.”
