BRADFORD Cathedral’s annual City Carol Service will be held next week.

The service, featuring the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Martin Love, Deputy Lieutenant Vicky Reynolds and other civic dignitaries, will take place at the cathedral on Monday, December 19 from 6pm.

It will include music from the Bradford Cathedral Choir and City of Bradford Brass Band, who will be conducted by guest musical director Leigh Baker.

The event also includes congregational carols including Once in Royal David’s City and O Come All Ye Faithful, as well as seasonal readings. Musical highlights include Gaudete, Little Drummer Boy, and The First Nowell, which will be a flugel and baritone duet.

Entry to the service is free but booking in advance is recommended via the Bradford Cathedral website or by calling the Cathedral office to guarantee you a seat.

More than 380 seats have already been confirmed, so people have been urged to book early to avoid disappointment.

The service will conclude with refreshments of hot drinks, mince pies and sherry for those who attend.
