A ROAD in Bradford has been closed following a burst water main.

The street affected is New Park Road in Queensbury between West End and the A644.

The road will be closed for a few days, with the expected date of reopening next Friday, December 9.

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Water said: “There was a leaky pipe on New Park Road, Queensbury, that we fixed this morning.

“Our teams are on with repairing the road, which will be reopened in the next few days.

“We know roadworks like this can be inconvenient, and would like to thank our customers for their patience whilst we complete the work.”

Metro tweeted that there are diversions in place as repairs are being carried out, and this includes several school bus services.

The diversions include the 993 serving Beckfoot Thornton, the NH2 serving North Halifax Grammar and the TA5 serving Trinity Academy.

These services will operate via the A644/Albert Road and will not operate via New Park Road and West End/cenotaph.

It is yet to be confirmed how the closure will affect the B25 service which serves St Bede's and St Joseph's Catholic College.
