FOUR HSBC bank branches are to close next year in Bradford and the surrounding areas.

The high-street bank announced today it would be closing 114 of its branches in 2023 as more people are choosing online banking over physical using a bank.

HSBC found that the number of people visiting has dropped by 65 per cent over the course of five years.

The bank said: "The decline in branch use has accelerated so much since the Covid-19 pandemic that some of the branches closing are now serving fewer than 250 customers a week."

HSBC released a list of bank branches that will be closing next year and the exact dates they will shut.

This includes one from within Bradford and three in the city's surrounding areas.

The first branch to close is the HSBC bank in Brighouse, off Market Street, which is set to shut on May 16, 2023.
