WORK on the water main to be carried out on Wellington Street, Allerton, Bradford, will necessitate the closure of a length of the road.

Traffic will be prohibited along an area outside nine Wellington Street. The proposed order will come into effect at 8am on Monday December 5 and remain in force until 6pm on Wednesday December 7 (although the closure can remain in force for up to eighteen months if necessary).

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times while the work is being carried out. Alternative routes for traffic affected by the order will be via Wellington Street (the unaffected section), Sherwell Rise, Manscombe Road, Allerton Road and vice versa.

Residents have until Friday to comment on the construction of road humps on two roads in the city.

On Victoria Road two road humps of the blacktop cushion type will be adjacent to number 43 and one blacktop plateau hump will be installed adjacent to number 29. On Stony Lane two humps with blacktop cushions will be adjacent to number 59.
