POLICE have apologised to any Uber Eats customers affected by the seizure of a car belonging to one of the company's delivery drivers.

Over the weekend, a blue Toyota was seized by West Yorkshire Police's Operation Steerside team.

Although the driver said they had owned the vehicle for a year and a half, it was not taxed or registered in their name.

A spokesman from the force said: "Sorry if your delivery was cancelled, it seems your driver forgot to tax their car or register it in their name despite owning it for 18 months.

"The car was seized on behalf of DVLA and the driver was reported for both offences."

Operation Steerside has been dedicated to tackling dangerous and anti-social driving in Bradford since 2016.
