A bridal shop is set to close its doors amid rising costs and challenging trading conditions.

Isla Loux Bridal Boutique has helped hundreds of brides-to-be’s find their wedding dress over the past eight years on Bailiff Bridge’s high street.

But the store’s owner has announced with “mixed emotions” that Isla Loux will close down in February 2023.

Owner Haley Gartland said the cost of running her business has been rising almost weekly following the Covid-19 lockdowns.

Any remaining wedding dresses will feature in a closing down sale, offering “massive savings” on dresses, bridesmaid gowns and accessories.

The closure will not affect any of Isla Loux’s current brides, she added.

In a statement, the businesswoman said: “It is with mixed emotions that we announce that Isla Loux will be closing down in February 2023.

“Since our lockdowns, we find that our costs are rising almost weekly and we cannot offer the same value to our brides and we have always tried our best to keep our dresses around the £1000 price point. We are by no means the only people to experience the financial hikes and trade has not recovered quickly enough for us to keep going indefinitely.

“I have loved working with many brides over the last 10 years or so, many of whom have actually become good friends, and I will miss my role very much indeed. Thank you to Elizabeth Broadbent (my wonderful seamstress) for the endless support and also to Debs, (newest seamstress) our time hasn’t been long enough.

“My Husband Rick Has been amazing and has supported and encouraged me 100 per cent throughout our Isla Loux journey and without him I never would have thought it possible in the first place.”

Ms Gartland added: “None of our current brides will be affected by this decision to close and all have been notified individually before we made our announcement. We will be having a crazy sale for all of our beautiful dresses for any brides that want to secure an absolute bargain in time for their big day.

“There are massive savings to be made so please feel free to share our sales info as and when it is posted.

“Finally thanking all of those whom have made Isla Loux my happy place for almost a decade x.”
