SHOPPERS at a Bradford district market have been given the chance to donate toy Christmas presents to disadvantaged children.

Shipley Underground Market has become a drop-off point for people wanting to donate a toy gift from now until Friday, December 9.

The toys that are left will then be collected by Windhill Community Centre and distributed to children in and around Shipley.

Ryan Troy, Shipley Underground Market manager, said: “The response has been amazing since we started the toy collection last week.

“Since we started running the appeal we have had something coming in every day.”

People can drop off new, or newly new toys, at the collection point in the Kirkgate market during its opening hours.

It's open 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday aside from Wednesday, when it's open from 9am to 1pm. The market is closed on Sundays.
