A MAN has been arrested after a pedestrian was left critically injured in a collision in Leeds over the weekend.

A 29-year-old man remains in custody after the incident, which happened at the junction of Stanningley Road and Eyres Terrace, Armley, at around 6.35pm on Saturday.

A vehicle was in collision with a 61-year-old pedestrian and then left the scene.

The man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision.

The victim is in a critical condition in hospital and police are appealing to anyone who witnessed any part of the incident, particularly anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact officers via 101, quoting reference 13220652714 or online via www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat.
