A much loved community hub and café in Bradford city centre is hosting its “final farewell” event today.

Bread + Roses - run by a cooperative of local businesses, food producers, arts groups and charities – made the decision to close its doors amid rising costs and a lack of funding.

But it is not over yet as Bread + Roses celebrate Bradford’s offering of food, art, poetry and culture.

The space is hosting an array of activities for all ages throughout the day before ending on a high with an afterparty from 7pm till late.

A spokesperson for the café said: “We might be closing soon, but we’re still excited about what’s going on across Bradford and want to celebrate all our community has achieved over the years!

“Join us on the 26th of November and enjoy all that B+R has to offer for one last time. We’d love to see as many familiar faces as possible, not to mention there will be complimentary food and refreshments throughout the day.

“Big thanks to The Leap Bradford, Bradford Producing Hub, Bradford Council for funding this event.”
