FOODBANKS across the country will be receiving additional support this festive season thanks to a partnership between Bradford-based Morrisons Foundation and the Trussell Trust.

Launching on Monday, November 28, the Morrisons Foundation Christmas Appeal will offer online customers the opportunity to add a donation of £1, £3, £5 or £10 to their shop.

Every pound raised will then be matched by the foundation and donated to the Trussell Trust’s Emergency Fund.

The Trussell Trust reports that between April and September this year a total of 320,000 people used a foodbank for the first time.

The charity anticipates it will give out 700,000 food parcels over the winter period, 275,000 of which will be for children, and the Morrisons Foundation’s Christmas Appeal will go a long way to help support people in desperate need across the country.

David Scott, Morrisons Foundation Trustee, said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with the Trussell Trust for our Christmas appeal.”

Find your local Trussell Trust food bank by visiting trusselltrust.org/get-help/find-a-foodbank and for more information on the Trussell Trust’s Emergency Fund, please go to trusselltrust.org/appeal.

Morrisons' customers who shop online are invited to support the Christmas Appeal by adding vouchers to their shop from November 28 to December 26, 2022.
