A 'HIDDEN gem' soft play centre for under-fives in Bradford is celebrating after winning a national award.

Little Daisy's, on Manor Lane, Shipley, was awarded the Best Soft Play in England award at the England Business Awards.

"We're very excited," said Little Daisy's owner Faye Carver. "I'm still feeling in a daze about it as it's not quite sunk in yet.

"Our soft play venue is a small, intimate environment geared towards both adults and kids. We're a hidden gem.

"When I first dreamt up Little Daisy's when I was 18, to see what we've created and being recognised for it has blown me away.

"We've had some tough times but we managed to get through Covid and keep all of our staff."

In a message to their customers on Facebook, Little Daisy's wrote: "Thank you so much to all our amazing staff and wonderful customers. We are so thankful for all your votes, support, encouragement and loyalty.

"We’re so proud to announce that we have not only just won the award for Best Soft Play in Yorkshire but we’ve gone on to win the national awards too. Blown away is an understatement!

"We love what we do, we love our staff and we love our customers. We’ve not long celebrated our 10th anniversary and we’re looking forward to many more years to come."

Mrs Carver added: "We've been open for 10 years and put so much time and effort in. Just to be recognised by people outside our customers is special.

"We already know what our customers think of us.

"We've always prided ourselves on building relationships with people.

"We don't just want our customers to be another person at a table.

"We want them to be known. Having a conversation with people who have a little one is so important as they might feel alone as a new parent who has had to deal with a sleepless night.

"We very much want to help and support them."

Mrs Carver and her husband Adam also lead the Christian Life Church, in which Little Daisy's is based, and they have got involved in the Bradford Council 'Warm Space' initiative.

She said: "We've seen the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on many people and we wanted to respond and provide a free warm, under 5 friendly space, each week for those who need it."

So until March, Little Daisy's will close every Tuesday at 1:30pm.

From 1:30pm to 3:30pm, they will host a free "Warm Space", with free tea, filter coffee and juice, manned by volunteers from the church.
