PEOPLE with a passion for cars are invited to attend an event in Bradford city centre this weekend.

Bradford Car Stories will take place in Bradford City Park and Centenary Square from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday, November 19.

Organisers say cars are a big part of our culture and that everybody has a car story to tell, so the event will be full of activities exploring people's relationship with these vehicles.

Visitors will be able to experience University of Bradford’s Yunis Alam’s research ‘Race, Taste, Class and Cars’ come alive.

Dr Alam said: “Our love of cars, and in particular, the modification of cars, is a kind of common language that cuts across categorisations that are often seen as divisive, such as race and class - it’s an example of something that binds people together, like food, fashion and music.

"What this day is about - apart from just bringing people together people who love cars - is looking beyond those differences, to a shared experience."

Sit in cars and listen to car’s stories told by the people in Yunis’s research and share your own story in the car video booth. There will be an opportunity to meet members of Bradford Modified Club, a live DJ and you can also claim a free gift.
