FIRE crews were in attendance at a derelict building in Bradford following a blaze last night.

Firefighters from Bradford, Shipley and Odsal fire stations attended the scene at the old Barkerend Mills site, near the Lidl store on Barkerend Road.

No one was injured in the fire, which is not the first to have been reported at the site.

A Shipley Fire Station spokesperson, speaking to the Telegraph & Argus this morning, said: “We got to the scene at around 9.30pm.

“There were four fire engines, so probably around 18-20 firefighters.

“We also had an aerial appliance, but we didn’t use it.

“We’ve have a few attendances at that building over the last two or three years.

“It’s obviously a derelict mill and it has no power, so we suspect that the fire was deliberate.”
