AN APPLICATION to sell alcohol from a petrol station has been submitted to Bradford Council.

Morrisons has applied for a Premises Licence for its store and petrol station at 110 Mayo Avenue, Bradford BD5 8HP.

The Bradford-based supermarket group has applied for the sale of alcohol for consumption off the premises from 6am to midnight on Mondays to Sundays and provision of late night refreshment from 11pm to midnight on Mondays to Sundays.

The application has been made under the Licensing Act 2003. Any comments on the proposal must be made in writing to the Licensing Team, Argus Chambers, Hall Ings, Bradford BD1 1HX, to arrive no later than the 24 November 2022. The application may be inspected at the above council address between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4.30pm on Friday. The licensing register is also available online at bradford.gov.uk/licensing. It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application. Anyone doing so could face a fine.

Road closures across the district this coming week include Back Girlington Road, where gas works has necessitated the closure from the rear of 47 Duckworth Lane to a point outside the rear of 229 Girlington Road. The order will come into effect at 8am on Sunday November 20 and remain in force until 6pm on Friday December 9, although the closure can remain in force for up to 18 months if necessary.

Alternative routes for traffic affected by the proposed order will be via Back Girlington Road (the unaffected section), Duckworth Lane, Girlington Road, Thorn Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times while the work is in progress.

Water works to be carried out on or near Cross Banks, Shipley will result in a road closure between Cross Banks from its junction with Otley Road to a point at the side of 127 Otley Road.

The order will come into effect at 7pm on Monday November 21 and remain in force until 6am on Tuesday November 22, although the closure can remain in force for up to 18 months if necessary.

Alternative routes for traffic affected by the order will be available via Cross Banks (the unaffected section), Moor Lane, Sunny Bank, Otley Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times along the route.
