THOUSANDS of people gathered in Bradford city centre this evening to kickstart the festive season by witnessing the Christmas lights switch on and a spectacular fireworks display.
Bradfordians were wowed by performances from the likes of Liberty X and Ellie Sax in the shopping centre before the button was pressed to light up the city.
This was followed by an amazing 12-minute sequence of fireworks with some rockets reaching up to 850 feet.
The professionally-organised and delivered show was accompanied by music and was visible across the city from within the Ring Road.
