SOME of Bradford’s most successful and most promising businesses will be celebrated in a glitzy awards ceremony this weekend.

The third Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Awards will be staged with a black tie gala dinner at The Broadway on Sunday, November 13.

The awards are organised by the Telegraph & Argus and LOCALiQ, along with our partners the Bradford BID and The Broadway, to recognise established and up and coming businesses and individuals.

This year’s gala awards evening will be MC’d by Bradford’s own David Nowakowski, Aka Nova Meets, who is flying in especially from America.

The Bradford-born musician officially became a US citizen last year. He now presents a weekly TV show - Loving Living Local - on the FOX21 channel in Colorado. Mr Nowakowski, also known by his nickname Nova, has signed a three-year contract on the show.

He will oversee an evening of great entertainment at the awards dinner, where guests will enjoy catering by Bradford’s My Lahore.

This year’s event will feature a new innovation - the Rising Star Award.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Ian Ward, General Manager at The Broadway, said: “We are delighted to host the Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Awards for the third time this November which will showcase the success of local businesses and individuals. After an extremely challenging couple of years and Bradford’s City of Culture 2025 win, there isn’t a better and more poignant time to recognise the achievement, and highlight the innovative people, venues and destinations throughout the Bradford district which make the area a great place to shop, dine and spend leisure time.”

Steve Lowe, Sales Director at LOCALiQ said: “We have had a record number of entries for this year's awards, and have seen a lot of new businesses enter too. I have a sense that the sector is starting to get its mojo back after a couple of challenging years and it will be great to see some new faces at the awards. Talking of the awards, only in Bradford does a shopping mall become an awards space for 300 guests, and back to being a shopping mall all within the space of a single Sunday evening.”

Bradford BID Manager Jonny Noble said: “Bradford BID are again delighted to be supporting the annual Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Awards. This occasion is always a really enjoyable evening whilst at the same time rightly acknowledging the amazing work the businesses across our district do. The variety of businesses nominated shows what a distinctive, diverse and quality offer we have right across our place and seeing how businesses continue to rally to the challenges placed in front of them is truly inspiring. We are of course particularly pleased to see so many City Centre businesses being represented and look forward to continuing to work with them.”
