A BRADFORD man has been handed a football banning order for an assault in the West Midlands on the day of a Leeds United match.

Jorden Nurse, 30, of Aberdeen Terrace, Clayton, Bradford, appeared in court on an assault by beating charge.

The assault on another man took place in Wolverhampton on March 18, 2022. This was the same date Leeds United beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-2 in the Premier League.

Nurse was handed a football banning order for three years. Requirements of the order include him not being allowed to approach within one mile of Leeds United’s Elland Road ground between three hours before kick-off and three hours after a match being played there.

On a Leeds United home matchday, he must not approach within half-a-mile of Leeds City Train Station three hours before and three hours after the game.

For away Leeds United matches over this period, Nurse must not approach within five miles of the football ground they are playing at from three hours before and three hours after the match.

Nurse was fined £865, ordered to pay £100 costs and £50 compensation for the offence.

Nurse pleaded not guilty at a previous hearing but was found guilty and sentenced at Walsall Magistrates’ Court on October 26, 2022.
