Paramedics could be seen treating an injured person at the scene of a crash in Stanningley on Wednesday evening.

Emergency services came across a crash at the junction of Swinnow Road and Stanningley Road, just above Bramley Station.

The incident was discovered around 9.32pm by a road policing unit.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed a pedestrian was taken to hospital with a possible broken leg.

The road traffic collision involved a male pedestrian and a Volkswagen Golf.

West Yorkshire Police, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue attended the incident.

One resident, who did not wish to be named, said: "It was quite worrying."

They said a car had gone into a lamp post or power box and added: "It was quite dark so it was hard to tell exactly.

"There was a police car parked up by the lights but you could still drive around it.

"I just hope the person being treated by paramedics has a speedy recovery."

Another resident added: "There were more vans en route as we headed home. A person was being treated."
