A BRADFORD pensioner features in a new world-first music exhibition.

Laurie Horam is part of Turn It Up: The Power of Music at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester, before it goes on a national and international tour.

Turn It Up takes visitors on a fully immersive experience - exploring the science of music’s mysterious hold over us and how it drives us to create, perform, feel and share.

Mr Horam always considered himself unmusical. But when his son gave him a harmonica, the retired civil servant discovered a natural talent – and a new way to express his emotions.

His story appears as part of the My Relationship with Music strand to show just how unique and special music is to everyone. Visitors can listen to ‘Peace Piece’ By Bill Evans - music that inspires Mr Horam to play.

Turn It Up will run at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester until May 21 next year.
