A 41-YEAR-OLD man has been taken to hospital after a car "deliberately collided" with him in Bradford today, West Yorkshire Police has revealed.

Police said officers were called to the scene on Oak Lane in Manningham in the early hours of this morning.

The victim suffered serious leg injuries, but they are not believed to be life-threatening.

The vehicle involved drove off from the scene, police added.

A police cordon was in place for much of the day as locals spoke of their shock and concern, in an area they said is usually quiet.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “At 1.09 this morning (7 November) officers were called to reports of a vehicle being in deliberate collision with a pedestrian on Oak Avenue, Manningham.

“The victim, a 41-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries, not believed to be life threatening.

“The vehicle, a black VW Golf, drove off from the scene.

“A scene is in place whilst Bradford CID investigate.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information about this incident is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference 13220614190.
