THE Met Office has issued a warning for Bradford to expect heavy wind throughout most of tomorrow.

A yellow warning has been put in place for the city by the national weather service on Wednesday, between 7am and 8pm.

There is potential for a spell of very windy weather which could disrupt transport and cause power cuts.

The Met Office's website states the torrid conditions are expected to initially affect Irish Sea coastal areas, before spreading to parts of northern England.

  • Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
  • Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
  • Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
