A TAKEAWAY has rejected a customer's allegations which led to a complaint to Bradford Council.

Heather Louise claimed on social media that her food from Sensations, on Moore Avenue in Wibsey, was inedible.

She reported the business to Bradford Council's Environmental Health department who visited the shop to investigate.

An officer discussed the complaint with bosses and told them to make some changes.

An Environmental Health spokesman said: "I was informed by the food business operator that they were aware of the complaint and had reviewed their practices, which were satisfactory at the time of my visit.

"In view of this, together with the fact that we have received no other recent complaints of a similar nature, I do not propose to take any further action.

"A routine food hygiene inspection was also undertaken at the time of my visit.

"A number of actions were identified for the food business operator to address and a revised food hygiene rating was issued."

Heather purchased the food on the night of Sunday, September 25, and was disappointed at what she discovered.

Although Sensations provided her with another pizza, she was angry at how no apology was offered.

Heather said: "We rang to tell them our pizza is mouldy.

"(They said) that’s garlic, even though we didn’t order a garlic pizza.

"They sent us a new one but gave us no apology or anything.

"Poor customer service."

Responding to the comments, Wahid Iqbal, from Sensations, told the T&A: "One hundred and ten per cent it was not mould. We would not have sent it out if it was.

"It could have been anything, the pan not being washed correctly or oregano from the pizza base.

"All our pizza dough is fresh. It is unfortunate and a one-off.

"We apologised. You cannot please everyone."

He added: "We are an established firm of over 13 years that go through 1,000 orders a week.

"We are in a cost-of-living crisis and we are still managing to get by."

A spokesperson for Bradford Council said: “We have received a complaint about this business.

"An Environmental Health officer inspected the premises. A number of actions have been identified and the business is cooperating in making these changes.

"This matter will remain on file to be referred to should any similar incidents arise."
