A MISSING man who was found at the end of last week has died in hospital, police have confirmed.

A major appeal was launched earlier this month to trace 53-year-old Mark Davies.

He was captured on CCTV on Albion Street, Leeds, on October 17, and police said they believed Mr Davies, of Brighouse, may have been sleeping rough in Leeds city centre.

One potential sighting of him was in Shipley.

In an appeal, Detective Inspector Tom Levitt from Bradford CID said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Mark, he is a vulnerable man.

“We are carrying out extensive enquiries in Leeds and would appeal to homeless charities in Leeds city centre for any information on his whereabouts.

“He has no access to a phone or any money that we’re aware of.

“We are following up on lines of enquiries of a potential sighting in Shipley and would continue to appeal to the public who may have seen Mark over the last 10 days.

“Mark if you are reading this, please let us know you are safe and well, your family are worried about your welfare.”

In an update last Friday (October 31) West Yorkshire Police said Mr Davies had been found.

In a further update today, a spokesperson said: “Mark Davies who’d been the subject of a missing person appeal was found in Leeds on Friday, October 28.

“He was taken to hospital for treatment. Sadly he passed away in hospital earlier today.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”
