INDIVIDUALS and organisations in Yorkshire and the Humber who have gone the extra mile for people affected by dementia could be recognised at the prestigious Dementia Hero Awards.

The awards, organised by the Alzheimer’s Society and sponsored by Tunstall Healthcare, will celebrate the achievements of those who meaningfully involve people affected by dementia in activities and projects that make a difference.

There are nine award categories and winners will be chosen by a panel made up of judges in research and innovation, local government, carers and businesses, amongst others.

More than 76,000 people in Yorkshire and the Humber live with dementia and the awards will aim to raise awareness of the condition.

Nominations close on Friday, November 18.
