A RESIDENT has spoken out after windows on a Bradford bus shelter were "smashed to smithereens".

Police were called to the Thackley Corner bus shelter on Town Lane, in Thackley, after a number of window panels had been smashed.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "There’s a report of criminal damage on Town Lane on Saturday, October 15, at 5.30pm."

"Every glass panel has been smashed to smithereens, just where the queueing children stand," said an Idle resident.

"It's terrible destructive vandalism. The same happened a while ago to the bus shelter near the Springfield Centre and I understand it cost thousands of pounds to repair."

When the T&A inspected the damage this week, most of the glass had been cleared but several panels on the back and side of the bus shelter were missing.

There were small fragments of glass on the ground and in the grass nearby.
