BRADFORD Council’s headquarters was one of 25 national landmarks that went green to mark a special cause.

Bradford City Hall was lit up green each night this week to encourage more people living in the district to ‘get real’ about recycling.

This year’s Recycle Week, which was first staged in 2004 by Recycle Now, part of climate action NGO, WRAP, targeted contamination to improve recycling behaviours, whilst busting challenge myths around recycling.

The central theme is Let’s Get Real, which acknowledges that we all have busy lives and can easily put the wrong thing in the wrong bin. However, by coming together this Recycle Week and committing to change our habits, we can make a real difference.

Recycle Week is the UK’s largest national annual recycling campaign, urging citizens, media, local government, brands and retailers to come together to achieve one goal: to encourage everyone to recycle more of the right things, more often.
