PEOPLE have been given a reminder to sign up for a run around Bradford city centre.

Bradford City runs, the annual festival of running, will be held on Sunday, October 30, and has a choice of three distances: a 5km, a 10km and a half marathon along with a special kids' mile run, all on closed roads in and around City Park in the city centre.

The route will take in parts of Little Germany and the Broadway Shopping Centre, as well as the University of Bradford, Bradford College, City Hall and the multi-award winning City Park.

The kids race will kick off the day’s runs at 9.15am, followed by the half-marathon and 10-mile races at 9.40am and the 5k and 10k races together at 9.55am.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council's executive member for healthy people and places, said: "There is just one week to go before this popular event takes to the streets of the city with runners of all abilities and families taking part.

“It is unique in that it offers a variety of distances and a special race for children.

“We would urge people to get signed up and get their running shoes ready for next weekend."
